Xolo Review — 7+ Years of Real Experience
I've used Xolo since 2017 for my Estonian company. Here's my honest review with real numbers.
My history with Xolo
I signed up for Xolo (then called LeapIN) in 2017 when I founded my Estonian company. At the time, there were fewer options — Xolo was one of the first platforms specifically built for e-Residents. Seven years later, I'm still a customer.
This is not a researched review. I log into the Xolo dashboard every week, send invoices through it, track expenses, and get my annual report done through them. Everything I describe here is from direct, ongoing experience.
What Xolo does well
The dashboard
This is Xolo's biggest strength. The dashboard gives you a real-time view of your company's finances: revenue, expenses, profit, tax obligations. It's clean, fast, and well-designed.
I can create and send an invoice in under 2 minutes. Recurring invoices are set up once and then fire automatically. The expense tracking lets me snap photos of receipts on mobile.
Wise integration
If you use Wise Business (and you should), the integration is seamless. Transactions sync automatically within hours. No manual data entry, no CSV uploads. This alone saves me 2-3 hours per month compared to manual bookkeeping.
Tax filing
Quarterly VAT returns and the TSD declaration (when distributing dividends) are handled by Xolo. I get a notification, review the numbers, and confirm. Takes 5 minutes per quarter.
Annual report
The annual report is the one thing that stresses most e-Residents. Xolo prepares it, I review it, and they submit it to the Estonian Business Register. Done.
What could be better
Tier fine print
For years, price was Xolo's weak spot — it was the most expensive provider. The pricing restructure flipped that: Xolo Leap now starts at €59/month with no setup fee, undercutting Companio (€89/month + €390 setup). The new catch is the tier structure. Starter is the leanest package; if your business needs more capacity or support, you're looking at Standard (€99), Pro (€139), or Premium (from €259, all ex VAT). Check the current feature matrix against your needs before assuming the €59 headline price is your price.
Support response time
Standard support takes 24-48 hours to respond. For urgent questions (especially around tax deadlines), this can feel slow. Higher Leap tiers get priority support, which is noticeably faster.
Limited customization
The invoicing templates are decent but not very customizable. If your brand requires specific invoice layouts, you might need to use an external tool and import the data.
Pricing breakdown
Xolo restructured its pricing. The company-management product is Xolo Leap, in four tiers (all ex VAT):
| Plan | Monthly | Positioning |
|---|---|---|
| Leap Starter | €59 | The essentials — cheapest full package on the market |
| Leap Standard | €99 | The sweet spot for established freelancers |
| Leap Pro | €139 | Higher revenue, more complex businesses |
| Leap Premium | From €259 | Maximum hands-on service |
There's no setup fee anymore — you pay only the state fees (€265 registration + €25 + VAT registry fee) through the platform. Xolo Go is now a separate product: €0/month pay-as-you-go freelancing through Xolo's own entity, without your own company.
Additional costs I've encountered:
- Complex annual report: €100-200 extra (only if your finances are unusually complex)
- VAT registration: included
- Address change: included
Who Xolo is for
Great fit:
- Freelancers and solo consultants at any revenue level — since the €59 Starter tier, Xolo is also the budget option
- Solo consultants with straightforward finances
- Anyone using Wise as primary business bank
- People who value a good dashboard
Not ideal for:
- Businesses under €1,000/month revenue (any provider fee is a big share of your revenue at that level — the question is whether you need a company yet)
- Companies with employees (possible but more expensive)
- People who need custom invoice templates
- Those needing same-day support regularly (unless on a higher tier)
My honest rating

|---|---|
| Dashboard & UX | 5/5 |
| Accounting quality | 4.5/5 |
| Wise integration | 5/5 |
| Support speed | 3.5/5 |

| Overall | 4.5/5 |

The bottom line
For years my honest verdict was: Xolo is not the cheapest, but it's the most reliable and the most polished. Since the pricing restructure, the first half of that sentence is obsolete — at €59/month for Leap Starter with no setup fee, Xolo is now also the cheapest full package on the market. The most reliable option being the cheapest is an unusual luxury. Take it.
Start on Starter, upgrade to Standard or Pro when your business outgrows it. Your company stays the same — only the plan changes.
